These terms are an agreement between you and SideQuest ("we", "us") for using the SideQuest website and app. By creating an account or using SideQuest, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use SideQuest.
- Keep your sign-in email secure. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- Pick a username that doesn't impersonate anyone or break the rules below.
Quests happen in the real world: play safe
SideQuest suggests real-world activities, some of them outdoors, on or near water, or physically demanding. You decide whether, when and how to do any quest, and you do so at your own risk. Check the weather and conditions, know your limits, bring what you need, follow local laws, park rules and posted signs, and never trespass or put yourself or others in danger. Supervise minors. No quest is worth getting hurt over, and XP is never a reason to take a risk.
Community rules: zero tolerance
SideQuest has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You may not post or send content that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens or targets anyone;
- is hateful, sexually explicit, violent or graphic;
- shows or encourages illegal or dangerous activity;
- shares someone else's private information or photos without permission;
- is spam, a scam, or impersonates someone else;
- infringes someone else's rights.
You can report any post, comment or profile from its "…" menu, and block any user from their profile or posts. We review reports within 24 hours, and we remove content that breaks these rules and suspend or remove the accounts responsible.
Your content
You own the photos, notes and comments you post. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display and share that content within SideQuest according to the visibility you choose, only to run and improve the service. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies other users have already shared or that we must keep by law.
Purchases and subscriptions
- Expansion packs and SideQuest Pro are sold on sidequestideas.com and processed by Stripe. Prices are shown before you pay.
- Pro subscriptions renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from the Billing page on sidequestideas.com; access continues until the end of the paid period.
- Packs and Pro unlock content on your SideQuest account on every device where you're signed in.

Ending your account
You can delete your account anytime in Settings. We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk.
Disclaimers and liability
SideQuest is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for injury, loss or damage that results from doing a quest or from your use of SideQuest, or for indirect or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Changes
We may update these terms. If changes are material, we'll update the effective date above and let you know in the app or by email. Continuing to use SideQuest means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, USA.
